How to keep carnations fresh
Trim about two centimetres from the stems at an angle and remove any leaves that would sit below the water line. Use a clean vase with fresh water and flower food if provided. Keep carnations away from direct sunlight, heat and ripening fruit, and change the water every two days. With regular care, carnations often last longer than many other cut flowers.
